NUGENT'S CAMPS

HOUSEKEEPING CABINS
$32.71 plus tax - a total of $35.00 per person/per day
(Bring sleeping bags, food, towels, soap, etc.)

AMERICAN PLAN
$100.00 plus tax - per person/per day
Includes linens, towels and three meals per day. Does not include alcoholic beverages, sodas, or mixers. (In the fall and winter months, American Plan guests are asked to bring their sleeping bags and towels with them).


MODIFIED AMERICAN PLAN
(Your cabin and dinner only) $60.00 per person/per day plus tax

McNALLY'S CAMPS

BOATS
At Nugent's Camps, we rent 16 foot boats with 15 hp motors. The motors are fairly new and in excellent running shape. You say you have your own boat? No problem - we have plenty of dock space and there is a concrete ramp and dock at Chamberlain Bridge where you can launch.

At McNally's Camps, we rent canoes from 16' to 20' with or without motors or bring your own canoes (this area is pretty much "canoes only" country).

Charter Boat (maximum 4 people) $135.00/day

BOAT SHUTTLE TO/FROM THE LANDING
$35.00 one way per boat load.

Children 12 years of age and under - lodging 1/2 price

Guides fees vary from $100. to $125 per day depending on the availability of the individual guide and the number of people to be guided.

An occasional meal may be purchased if advance notice is given. All meals are served family-style.

A NON-REFUNDABLE 25% DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED TO GUARANTEE ALL RESERVATIONS.

WHAT TO BRING
  • You should bring your own fishing tackle or hunting gear
  • Rain gear and rubber boots are a neccessity
  • Insect repellent
  • A nice day here is extremely beautiful, but a foul weather day is no fun if you are not prepared. You should bring warm clothing no matter what time of year you are here.
  • Don't forget to buy your hunting or fishing license as well as bait before leaving town.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
  • These camps are rustic with few modern conveniences. Because they are located within the "Allagash Wilderness Waterway", state rules require that they be kept rustic. All the cabins are served by privies and do not have running water. There is a community bathhouse.
  • As the "Golden Road" and the "Telos Road" are owned and maintained by paper companies, their log trucks have the right-of-way. Please be careful when traveling these roads.
HOW TO GET TO NUGENT'S
  • I-95 to Baxter State Park/Allagash Wilderness Waterway and Millinocket Exit #244.
  • Pass straight through Millinocket heading north. Bear right on Baxter State Park Road.
  • Caution - approximately ten miles out of Millinocket, you will see signs directing you to Baxter State Park (straight ahead) or West Branch Region (left). Take this left and you will immediately reach Bowater's Debsconeag Gate. Tell the attendant that you are going to Nugent's Camps in the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. You will not be charged a fee at this gate.
  • Continue up the "Golden Road" for another 18 miles where you will come to the "Telos Road" on the right. Here you must turn north, cross the West Branch of the Penobscot River and continue another 15 miles to "North Maine Woods" Telos Gate. Here you will be charged a road use fee of $8.00 per person residents: $14.00 per person non-residents. No charge for children under 12 years of age or adults over 70 years. From the end of November until the beginning of May, this gate is free.
  • From here, continue north for 8 miles to Chamberlain Bridge Parking area. During the winter, we recommend you continue north across Chamberlain Bridge for exactly 8 miles where you will come to our parking lot on the left. Park here, It is a 2 1/2 mile trip down our groomed snow machine trail to the camps.
HOW TO GET TO McNALLY'S CAMPS
  • First follow the route listed under "How to get to Nugent's.
  • From Chamberlain Bridge continue north on the "Telos Road" for 11 miles. Here you come to the Pinkham Road off to the right. Go straight past this turn and take the first left past Haymock Lake, approximately 1 1/2 miles.
  • Five miles past "John's Bridge", you come to a right hand turn. This is the Poulin Road. You must take this right. Proceed along this road for approximately 11 miles. Here you will come to the "Cut Over" Road. On your right, you must take this road for 2 miles. Here you will come to a T in the road. Please bear left at this intersection, which is the "Churchill Dam Road". Approximately 3 miles down the Churchill Dam Road, you will come to the "American Realty Road"., continue straight ahead. In just over 1 mile, you will come to the logging community known as Clayton Lake. Emergency services only available here.
  • Continue one mile west of Clayton Lake, where you must take a right (follow McNally signs). 4 miles along this road, you will come to a road going off to the right toward Cunliffe Lake. Follow this road for another 4 miles and you will come to our gated road on the right. It is 1 1/2 miles on this road to camp.

  • NOTE Guests going to McNally's are required to pay a $18. resident road use fee or a $25. road use fee for non-residents at Telos Gate.
